The Tom Jones Festival of Sport

A Family and Friends Day Out

The Community Support Dedication in Memory of Tom Jones

We are the West Mercia Search & Rescue team that found Tom Jones. His heart warming response and support to our team from his family has promoted our team to dedicate this Sporting Event in Tom's memory to live on in the form of a annual The Tom Jones Festival of Sport.

We save people in danger. Always on-call. Always professional. Always volunteers. We are normal people doing quiet heroics, dedication and professionalism for free to your community and those in crisis.

We find missing people, we save lives in floods and we respond to emergencies alongside our partner agencies: We are the official Lowland Rescue unit for the West Mercia Police area, operating as part of the UK’s rescue structure alongside Mountain Rescue, the Coastguard, RNLIand Lifeguards.

We are also a registered DEFRA Flood Rescue Boat team, and can be called to respond anywhere in the country when flooding occurs. We need your help to continue this life-saving service – all of our equipment, overheads and training is paid for by charitable donations and grants. Please consider donating, getting sponsored.

You can access the festival in Vines Park via Gate One (located on Vines Lane), Gate two (accessed via the Saltway), and Gate three (situated by the B4065).

You’ll be able to park at the pay and display car parks around Droitwich, with the closest being the Waitrose Car Park (opposite Vines Park).

After arriving at Droitwich Spa train station, it’s roughly a 10minutes walk along the canal to Vines Park Droitwich
