Entry Information

SaltFest DAC 5km fun run Sunday 6th Sept 2026, 10:00am.
This is a FUN RUN. It is open to people of all abilities who can manage or be guided around a multi terrain route. 200 places available.
Entry and Registration - Saturday 5th Droitwich AC (DAC) Gazebo Pitch Vines Park from 10am to 5pm or Sunday 6th - from 9:00am to 9:45am the Droitwich AC Gazebo behind Lido Park Bandstand. Cost £5 CASH ONLY. All of this entry fee goes to Droitwich AED. You must complete the Emergency details on the back of your runners number before attaching it to your running top. This number must be attached to the front of whatever you are running in and must be visible at all times during the run. Warm up session Outdoor Park Aerobics. These are not organised by DAC.
The run starts Sunday 6th Sept 2026 at 10:00am. Runners must be ready at least 5 minutes before the race begins.
The 5k run entirely within Lido Park.
Start and finish near the band stand area.
The multi-terrain run with some challenging little hills. The route consists of one 3km lap followed by a 2km lap. Runners will receive a token to show that they have completed the 1st lap and they will need to show this at the finish after their second lap. Water will be available at a water station passed on both laps. Organised and marshalled by Droitwich AC. High quality metal medal for all finishers from the sponsors - Droitwich AC & Droitwich Salt.
Finishes will also be receiving a sample pack of Droitwich Salt as a gift from Churchfields Farm - Droitwich Salt.

Under 11 year old's must be accompanied by an adult (same rules as for Park Runs)
Dogs must be on a short, hand held lead (same as Park Run rules).
Buggies and prams are not permitted. Neither are children on the shoulders of runners.
First aid cover for the run is provided by Securitex (organised to cover all of the SaltFest first aid and security.
Our nominated charity is Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) thanks to Droitwich AED (Automated External Defibrillators Ambulance.

The natural terrain offers a light challenge course for all participants.

THE COURSE (see map)
The Fun Run course is through Lido Park. This is a hilly course with some mud
and tree roots to avoid. The surfaces are rough tracks, grassy fields, unmade
woodland trails, compacted gravel and tarmac. Proper multi-terrain! As a
fun run - all finishers will get the same medal and gift of Droitwich Salt.
The run will be timed for your information only - it is not a race with
finishing positions. All finishers are equal. We fully expect to see people
walking up some hills and stopping to photograph the beautiful scenery
on these two fabulous parks. Get your family to come and support
you - and to buy you a well earned coffee or ice cream when you
finish at the Saltfest Lido Park. DAC marshals will be all around
the course to encourage you on (with phones to contact first aid if needed).
There will be a tail runner to stay with the last runner.

We organise regular group runs, where members of all levels can come together to run, share tips, and motivate one another. It's a fantastic way to meet fellow runners, make new friends, and stay motivated in your goals.

We ensure that our routes are well-lit and carefully planned, in the summer months’ we head out on the trails around the local countryside. We have a team of experienced run leaders who keep an eye out for everyone's well-being. So, lace up your running shoes and get ready….we can't wait to see you at our next club event and help you achieve your fitness goals together.

RUNNING GROUPS

Our run groups cater to all levels of runners, from beginners to experienced athletes. We usually offer different distance options to accommodate various fitness levels and training goals. Whether you prefer a short and leisurely jog or a faster, more challenging run, there will be something for you.

The pace is typically set by the participants, allowing everyone to find a comfortable speed. Ideally, you need to be able to run a minimum of 8k without stopping.

We offer 2 ‘free sessions’ before we ask you to join formally. If it's your first time running with us message us via facebook or the contact form here.

We use social media channel to keep participants informed about any updates, changes, or cancellations. Make sure to join our Facebook/Instagram & Twitter social media groups, to stay connected and receive timely information.

JUNIOR ATHLETES

Droitwich Athletics Club has an extremely friendly youth section welcoming all young, budding athletes from ages 6 to 18. We aim to introduce athletics to young people in Droitwich providing gradual progression in their running, jumping and throwing skills.

Competitions

In the Spring/Summer months we participate in the Heart of England Athletics league (track and field). During the Autumn/Winter months we take part in the Gloucester Cross Country league and UK Athletics Sports Hall competitions.

Training

We meet on Tuesday evenings at the High School.

If it's light outside we all train on the athletics track from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

Once it starts getting dark training for our younger athletes transfers into the Sports Hall.

Our coaches hold UK athletics coaching qualifications and are fully DBS (formerly CRB) checked.
